Finding Inspiration

I have been using digital cameras for a while now. It has been a long time since I have used film cameras. I thought the class looked interesting so decided to give it a shot. This was the first time developing my own pictures. I am now in love with film photography. I love everything about it. The unpredictability, the length of time, the dedication, the process. Just everything. Of course sometimes I am not in the mood to stand in the dark room for hours on end developing pictures that may or may not be turning out the way I want, but those are just the off days. Yes of course I am going to still use digital photography, I love that too. I just now want to keep using film photography too. Also it has honed some skills of patience and waiting for the right shot. Or just going that much further to get the right angle/lighting/focus. There is just so much involved, really a great art.

It is an interesting concept. The time it takes to try and perfect a picture taken on a roll of film. There is something great about being in the dark room. Relaxing almost. Kind of like a whole other world.

Are of the digital variety, but nonetheless they provide ideas and concepts that I am trying to get across. Plus it is a lot easier to blog digital photographs.

I really like the idea of night photography, I think it is very unpredictable. Lighting is a huge thing when it comes to photography, and when there is lack of light the possibilities are changed completely. I admire what people are capable of taking at night. Especially without it looking too grainy or when considering digital photography too pixel-y.
